304 People Fear Dead In Earthquake At Haiti


Haiti’s civil protection agency posted on Twitter that the death toll stood at 304, most in the country’s south. Rescue workers and bystanders were able to pull many people to safety from the debris. The agency said injured people were still being taken to hospitals. On Saturday, a strong magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southwestern Haiti, killing minimum of 304 people and injuring nearly 1,800 others as buildings collapsed into rubble.
