Narayan Rane is making the headlines ever since he commenced Janashirwad Yatra in Mumbai. He has made several controversial statements however the one he made on Tuesday regarding Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has plunged him into real trouble. As per the reports, Nashik Police is on its way to Chiplun to arrest him with a warrant.
Rane has been accused of making defamatory statements about the Chief Minister, creating animosity and hatred in the society, saying that there will be rifts in various groups in the state. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Barkund, the complainant is a Shiv Sena metropolitan chief. According to him, a team of cyber police has been sent to Chiplun.
This has again stirred the political circles in Maharashtra. The Bharatiya Janata Party and ruling Shivsena are already on bitter terms for the last few years. This incident has added fuel to the fire as Narayan Rane is backed by the BJP.
Meanwhile, a large police force has been deployed in Chiplun and according to sources, it is being said that Narayan Rane is trying to avoid arrest. However, a case has also been registered against Narayan Rane in Mahad.
What Exactly Narayan Rane Had Said?
While addressing Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Raigad district on August 23 he said, “It is shameful that the chief minister does not know the year of independence. He leaned back to enquire about the count of years of independence during his speech. Had I been there, I would have given (him) a tight slap,” Jan Ashirwad Yatra in adjoining Raigad district on August 23.
