Member of Parliament of the All India Trinamool Congress Mahua Moitra is known for her blunt speeches in the Lok Sabha and sharp condemnations on Twitter. She as a politician has a different aura and persona of herself which she is capable of acing. Even her dissenters think twice before making any statement related to her. She is the fearless lioness who very well knows how to respond to the opposition.
She makes sure in the parliament that her voice is heard but also makes TMC’s presence felt in the parliament. Moitra never lets anyone suppress her voice. She is a strongly opinionated person and puts across all her points systematically. She is one of the best team members in Mamata Banerjee’s squad. Mahua Moitra is going to help Mamata Banerjee a lot to make her presence in national politics.
Recently, she gave a befitting reply to BJP MP and newly appointed IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He had said, TMC has a culture of violence on the action of Santanu Sen of grabbing and tearing the papers. To these remarks, Moitra blatantly responded, that we are proud to bring Bengal culture in parliament, however, ‘snooping’ culture through Israeli spyware comes from the Gujarat model.
After the assembly elections results, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC had to face a quarrel with the governor of the state. TMC had condemned the appointment of six Officers on Special Duty (OSD) by the governor Jagdeep Dhankar of West Bengal. That time she took to her Twitter handle took a jibe at him using ‘uncle ji’ taunt for him. Regarding the appointment of OSDs she wrote, “Uncleji is kindly requested to come clean on who marked persons are & how they were appointed OSDs. End of story. End of lies.”
Mahua Moitra was on fire and raged when the prime minister used the remark of Didi O Didi during the poll campaigns in West Bengal. She slammed PM Modi saying, it was the ‘cheapest and basest way possible to chortle about a sitting chief minister of a state.’ She questioned if this is how the Prime minister was going to teach the decorum?
She is the leader who always follows her ethics, values and speaks her heart out. She stands for her cause and her beliefs. She is a lady boss and grooms the same way taking from the parliament sessions to the press conferences. Whether one support her or hate her one has to agree that she managed to prove herself an ace female politician, in politics which till today is male-dominated.
When Harper’s Bazaar released the magazine cover in which Mahua Moitra was seen donning a perfectly draped saree posing with an elegant and powerful look. She carried her womanism with great finesse. Just her look in the picture was enough for people to know that she is indeed powerful. She has been vocal about several issues taking from corruption to nepotism and a lot more. Her attitude is the biggest weapon.
We need more such learned, stellar women politicians in Indian politics across all the parties.
